Modern slavery policy and statement
This policy and statement explains how UK Instant Services Ltd, trading as Instant Healthcare UK ("we"), prevents modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. It applies to everyone who works for or with us: employees, agency workers, self-employed workers, clients and suppliers.
Our commitment
We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced or compulsory labour, servitude, human trafficking and child labour. We act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
Our business
We supply nurses, care assistants, support workers and locum doctors to care homes, care providers, hospitals and the NHS, and provide home care and live-in care from our office at 25 Church Gate, Leicester. Our main supply chains are workers we recruit directly, training and vetting providers, IT and payroll services, and office suppliers.
Where the risks are in our sector
- Recruitment of workers, including from overseas – debt bondage through recruitment fees, false job offers or visa exploitation
- Third-party recruiters and suppliers who may not share our standards
- Accommodation or transport arranged for workers by others
How we prevent modern slavery
- No fees, ever: we never charge workers to find them work, and we do not use recruiters who do.
- Identity and right to work checked for every worker, in person or by approved digital checks, before they start.
- We never hold workers' passports, ID or other documents, and never control their bank accounts or wages.
- Fair pay: at least the National Living Wage, paid on time from approved timesheets, with clear payslips.
- Free choice of work: workers choose the shifts they accept and can stop working with us at any time.
- Warning signs checked at registration, such as the same address, phone or bank account shared by unrelated workers, or someone else speaking for the worker.
- Suppliers and recruiters are expected to follow this policy and may be asked to confirm their own checks.
Training
Our office and recruitment staff are trained to recognise the signs of modern slavery and know how to report concerns. Safeguarding training for our workers includes modern slavery.
Reporting a concern
Anyone can raise a concern, confidentially and without fear of reprisal:
- Call us on 0333 014 4084 or use our contact form
- Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline: 08000 121 700 (24 hours)
- If someone is in immediate danger, call 999
We will investigate every concern, protect the person affected and report to the police and authorities where needed.
Responsibility and review
Our directors are responsible for this policy and for making sure it is followed. We review it every year and update it when our business or the law changes. Breaches by staff may lead to disciplinary action; breaches by suppliers may end our relationship.
This policy and statement was approved by the directors of UK Instant Services Ltd. Last reviewed: October 2026.
